Oh how 20 months have flown by......

I know, I know, I know. I'm running 2 weeks behind on my updates. I have had a lot going on.

Continuing on with my new job, I still like it. I am office manager/secretary for a downhole drilling machinery company. On a sad note, October, I found out I was pregnant. Everything was going good, told everyone, preparing and praying for a girl, made the 1st doctor's appointment and then a week later I had to go to the ER and found out I was going through a miscarriage. Elijah has kept us going so much and we are so thankful we have him that he helped us get through the grieving. On another note I am currently working on losing the last bit of weight I gained with Elijah, but as it gets colder outside I am having to stay motivated to be able to run on the treadmill after I get Elijah to sleep at night, but I will get there and I will not give into temptation of sweets, fats, and all the yummy stuff.

**drum roll please** Fan has been promoted!!!! He is now Leadman/Batchman at the Shawnee Dolese Brothers Plant!!! He started there just under a year ago (late November), he started as a laborer. Basically cleaned the plant, did maintainence, ran the loader, filled the bins, etc. Then, he moved up to driver in August sometime, still having to do the other work. Now, he Leadman/Batchman!! His next position to move up to will be Supervisor. Elijah and I are so proud of him!

Elijah - well what can I say about him, he is growing so much in such a little time. He doesn't copy everything you say, but he will copy some of it. Him and I were watching cartoons this past weekend and a commercial came on for cookie mix. I didn't say anything when all of a sudden he copied the voice on the TV....she said "cookie mix" and then so did Elijah! It was too funny. Now winter coming in, I'm not sure how I'm going to keep him entertained and not cranky all the time, because he wants to go outside everyday! Today is one of the few cold days we have had so far that didn't warm up in the afternoon. BBBRRRR. I really do hope it snows a good amount this year so that I can bundle him up and get him out to play in it. Last year was ice pellets that were to hard to do anything with. Over the summer we adopted a kitty for him and now recently we adopted a little puppy. The cat's name is Tee-Tee and the dog's name is Lulu, both of which Elijah can say very well. Lulu is a min pin/pomeranian mix, cute as a button, loves all of us plus the cat. We all love to whatch those two play all over the floor. Mommy is potty training Lulu, so when I bring her back in I have Elijah go give her a treat and say "good girl."

He is such a little sponge, he says and doesnt so much! He almost has a full set of teeth, he has 4 molars, 4 bottom teeth, and 4 top teeth and I think we are currently work on his top 2 canine teeth. Fan and I took him to a science museum this past weekend where he could play with all sorts of fun stuff. We truely had a great time as a family.

Thanksgiving is next week already, hopefully Elijah will eat a bit more this year than last. Then the week after that I have to take him back in to have his weight checked to make sure he is gaining weight in a good/healthy amount since he is so little.  I will let you all know more next month.

Until then, love you and take care.

Routines

So Elijah is almost 19 months old and I have been doing his bed time routine for just about everyday of his life. Our bedtime routine is tell him its time to take a bath, stop off at his room and have him grab his towel that hangs off his bed, then we go to the bath room, pull back the curtain, take off his pants, diaper, then shirt. Lately I have been having him sit on his little potty for potty training, then we go over and get in the bath and we finish out the routine from there.

Wwwweeeelllllll, the other night he was playing and having fun with Fan and I and it was about 7:30 p.m.(ish) and I said "Eli wanna go take a bath?" Of course he shook his head no, so I wasn't going to say anymore until his actual bath time which is about 8:15. A few minutes after I asked him the first time he left the living room saying "bath, bath" and he walked to the bath room. Then he came back (I was sitting on the floor watching TV with Fan and Eli came over grabbed my thumb and started to pull me so I got up with him still holding on to my thumb and we stopped in front of his room (I sat down to see what he would do) and his towel was hanging up like normal so he opened up his towel drawer pulled out 2 wash cloths and threw them on the ground and then grabbed a towel. He then walked by me to the bath room, put his towel down and came and grabbed my thumb again. We got into the bath room and he started to pull back the curtain until I took over and while I was doing that he was pulling down his pants and then did his diaper then sat on the potty. After he went pee-pee I gave him a sticker for doing it and then he asked to get in the bath "bath up." I was shocked that he did practically his whole routine by himself.

He is doing, saying, etc so much more than I ever thought at 19 month old could do. Let's just say he has never cease to amaze me yet.

18 Months

Well in just the short month since I last wrote an update on Elijah, so much has happened. He had his 18 month check-up. He is healthy and growing. Although he is only 21 pounds and 30 inches (the 3% of his other peers), his head is in the 50%. The doctor was very impressed about how much he knows, can say and do. I also let the doctor know that he is bilingual (English and Dutch) and he thought that was very good. He doesn't the doctor any more than any other child, so getting a flu shot was horrible for both of us. Because of his weight, he does have to go back to the doctor in December to check it and make sure he is gaining weight.

Elijah can now say 2-4 word sentences. A few of them are "I got it," "Dadda work car," "No Tee-Tee" (thats the cat). He can even say bigger word like "Ladybug" and my favorite is "But-tee-tee" (butterfly). He has a big appitite and eat just about anything. He got a motorized truck for his birthday (in March) and can finally reached the pedal and make it go around the yard, forward and backward.

Fan is still working at Dolese, still loving it. He recently got his CDL license which enables him to drive the mixer trucks. We have had so much rain lately that he isn't getting very many hours plus no one want to buy concrete these days. Needless to say that him and the other 2 guys there are possibly looking for a new job. I got a new job. I now work for a company that manufacturs downhole drilling tools for the petroleum industry. It is in Oklahoma City do it is a drive for me, but I like the job. I am the Office Manager there. Other than that things are going good for us.

OOPS! 17 months!

Well just shoot me I didn't get around to posting last month so now I have 2 months to account for. No big worries. I've made a few changes as to how I am going to write this blog, YAY for me! haha.......

What is going on with Elijah:
He is learning how to run faster and better....we can still keep up with him. He is talking and learning more and more every week. We have a few picture books at our house and both grandparents and he loves to get the books and have someone sit down with him and read it. I normally ask him where something is and he points to it. If it is an animal I ask him what it says (if I know he knows it). Animal sounds he currently knows is: cat, dog, snake, bird, goat and lizard (although not sounds but tongue movement). He does however know many other animals. His vocabulary is grwoing more and more. He likes to say "Hallo or Hi" and sometimes he tries to carry on a conversation with me and I have no clue what he is saying. We have had to go to the doctor a few times this past few months.....once was for a fungal infection, then a bad diaper rash, and the latest was for a case of Thrush (yeast infection of the mouth) and possibly a bit of Hand-Foot & Mouth Disease (without the hand and foot part). Doctor gave him some medicine and that night was the worst. Elijah and I camped out on his bedroom floor, had our blankies, medicine and bottle of water.....we may have gotten a total of 3-4 hours of sleep. By the next evening he was better and was finally eating after not being able to do so for about 2 days. He now has is appitite back and then some.

Recently a few weeks ago we adopted a kitten from a local rescue place. His name is Tee-Tee (it was either that or Rabbit <--Eli's choice). He is already fixed and had his shots and is 5 1/2 months old. Elijah LOVES to pick him up and carry him over to us and loves it more when Tee-Tee is in a playful mood and chases a boll around. All in all Elijah is happy with the cat and so are we.

What is going on with Fan:
Fan has been going to a chiropractor to get relief for a nerve in his lower back and He had to have an MRI done and it showed one of his lower disks did not have the right amount of fluid (due to not drinking much water) and what looked like a pimple on one of them. He is feeling much better these days. He still works for Dolese and is learning how to drive a mixer truck so that he may get his CDL and keep his job. Things are getting a little tight for us as they have been cutting back on his (and everyones) hours due to lack of concrete jobs and such. Other than that he is doing well, having fun and loving every minute he has.

What is going on with Sara:
I have, as well, been going to the chiropractor for headaches and neck pains. Surprisingly it is not due to my 2 wrecks in 2002. I am feeling much much better and am able to think more clearly without a headache. I am still working for the real estate appraiser. All is well there. I have also taken up modeling as a hobby and once I gain enough experience I hope to get paid for it. Another part-time job I am working on is becoming a blogger for various companies and getting paid for it. It is hard to sift through all the good and bad postings but I'm getting somewhere with it. I am still selling Homemade Gourmet and am working on putting a plan together to start making meals for the busier folks around town using the Homemade Gourmet recipes and products....as well as selling it on the side if anyone wants some. I have a rough goal to get this blogging thing under control and going good, then I can stay home and take on more blogging or virtual assistant/telecommuter as well as Homemade Gourmet on the side. I want to be able to spend more time with Elijah during the day, go to the park or go swim or just play in the back yard, take lunch to daddy and visit him or go see Nana at work....the fun stuff I dont get to do while I am at work.

Pray for my dad as he will be getting back pain relief soon enough.

I have added more pictures of Elijah to his online photo album as well as some of my modeling pictures.

Much love to everyone,
Fan, Sara & Elijah

15 Months!! Wow!!

Well Summer is finally here!! Woo-hoo! Elijah has played outside almost everyday. He's is a typical little boy and like his daddy, loves being outside and gets cranky if he has to stay inside all day. We bought him a swing this past Saturday. Hung it up on the tree out front and now if he sees it he says "Wee" (for swing). He is talking more and more everyday it seems like. If he wants something I try to get him to tell me or point to what he wants. We are trying to start on our colors, so far not much luck there....haha. He is starting to do alot better around dogs, still doesn't like them if they bark, but is getting better.

We went to the zoo at the end of May. He loved it! We were there from about 10:30 am to about 3 pm and he was so tired, but didnt want to take a nap because he might miss something. So he fell asleep about 10 minutes after we got in the car and slept for a good 3 hours at least. When he woke up, Fan went to get him and yelled for me.....Eli had pooped, BUT it was purple from all the grape juice he drank that day. It was all over his sheet and shorts. He got to see turtles, birds, fish, sea lions, all the big cats and dogs, monkeys. The elephants were gone to the Tulsa zoo, so we will have to go back. Maybe we will be able to watch the sea lion show, too. I want to try to take him to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Tulsa, but we will see.

Elijah now has 4 top teeth and 3 bottom ones. No sign of the 4th on the bottom. He is getting taller and growing out of his clothes...well atleast in the length part, he is still skinny. He loves to feed himself with his own little silverware, preferably a fork. About a month ago, he really liked to eat broccoli, but now he really likes to eat corn on the cob. Almost every evening he wants Fan to take him for a ride on the motorcycle, up and down the drive and around the back yard. I'm sure it wont be long until he has his own bike and gear.

Memorial Weekend, we went camping and he really enjoyed it. Everytime we got on Poppie's (my dad) boat he fell asleep. He got to swim in the laske with dadda. He played in the dirt with the sticks and stuff he could find, met another little boy who was camping next to us and got to play with his toys too. He is a good camper. I'm so happy.

As for Fan and I, well we have been married for 3 years now. Wow how time flies. Still doing great. Both still have our jobs, spending as much time with Eli as we can, but also letting him stay the night with Nana & Poppie (my parents) or Oma & Opa (Fan's parents).

Well thats about it for now. Until next time......
We love you.

Nearly 14 months!

Elijah is growing up so much. He may not be getting much taller, but he is learning more and getting smarter. He has learned the "s" sound. He knows what a snake says, can "yes", he is comprehending more words although none truely spoken, but in his own version. He is becoming more of a daddy's boy, which is becoming a big change for Fan and I. He, most of the time, prefers Fan over me :(

He knows what bath is and where to go. He knows if I say "lets change your diaper" he goes to his room. He is walking ALL over the place and is getting better about going up and down stairs. He loves the outside, and if he had his way he would be out as long as he can. I can't wait for more warmer weather, so we can go to the park, zoo, lake and anywhere else that is outside. He also thinks that if he leans forward and puts his arms back it will make him go faster. It is so cute until he falls. He does like to walk on his, but sometimes does want help with the steps.

He has been successfully weaned for a little over a month now. It was alot easier transition than I thought since I have always been the "cow". Now, I have actually been able to give him a bottle of milk at night and lay him down in his crib and he will drink and go to sleep. No more rocking, well a few times). He sleeps (has been) through the night and usually will wake up somewhere between 7 am or 8 am. Not much sleeping in for me, but oh well. He has gradually started to change his napping time to once a day in the afternoon for nearly 2 hours or more.

We have a little dictionary book he likes to carry around. No words yet. He also will get one of his other books and bring it to either Fan or I and then wants to sit beside us and read it. He can eat a little sandwhich all by himself. He does like to feed himself. So I usually have been making food for Fan & I that Elijah can also eat by himself. He know how to use a fork, still needs practice with a spoon. He does knows what "wa-wa" is (water). In baby sign language he knows what "more," "please," and "all done" are. He knows how to wipe his mouth with a napkin and throw away trash in the trash can.

There is so much he can do, we are VERY proud of him. Fan and I often joke and ask eachother if he is really our kid, because he is so smart. We love him so much and are truely blessed to have him. I am thankful that I can enjoy and record his accomplishments on this blog and share with everyone.

Fan & I are doing great. He recently purchased two vacation packages one in Costa Rico and the other in Orlando/Daytona. We have 24 months to use them in and we are excited. He has now become Relief Batchman at work. Which means as soon as he gets his CDL he will be getting paid more when he has to do the batching (loading the trucks with the concrete material). Woo-hoo!! I am still working for the real estate appraiser. Not too much new for me. I did start selling Homemade Gourmet, yummy food stuff!

That is about it for now.

Fan, Sara and Elijah

Homemade Gourmet

I recently joined the Homemade Gourmet Team. I am doing this in hopes of being able to stay home with Eli. My goal is to be able to supplement my same income by next March. I love to cook and I think is a good opportunity to do what I love for the ones I love.

I have my own website for Homemade Gourmet! Check it out. You can also email me through it. I hope to hear from you about an order or coming to my party this Sunday, March 15th at 3:00 p.m. Remember this is my debut party to help kick start my Homemade Gourmet future.

Let me know if you want to order anything or questions about signing up.

My 1 year old

Wow, it doesn't seem possible that 1 year ago today I was sitting at home with a brand new baby boy. So tiny and innocent. The past year has changed Fan and my lives dramatically. Instead of going to parties for older people we are going to little birthday parties. Instead for staying up late going out, we are going to bed early to try to get in enough z's before our son wakes up with the sun. We hurry home just to spend as much play time as we can with him before bed. I am now cooking for 2 1/2 seeing as Elijah is not eating as much as we are just yet.

Elijah turn one on March 7th, we had the most wonderful birthday. We rented a bounce house for the kids and adults to play in. We had food and lots of it, so many presents. He did really good playing, but of course he does that when its outside. He has always been an outside baby, he loves it. We had some many people come for the party and lots of little ones was so much fun too.

Elijah is walking all over, getting into everything. He recognizes what things are such as mommy, daddy, cat, dog, truck, nose, eye, ear, belly button, mouth. He can clap, blow kisses, wave bye bye. He can say in sign language 'more,' and 'please.' He knows what bath is and helps me get him ready for bath and for bed.

I took him to his 1 year check up yesterday. He weighs 18.12 pounds is 29 inches long and his head is 47 cm around. Doctor still reassured me that although he is little and in the 5-10% for his weight, his head is in the 75% and thats what counts. Which means he is getting all the necessary nutrition and food he needs and not all the fat that he doesnt need. Not to mention he is very active and all over the place. Doctor was suprised that Elijah knew where nose, ear and eyes were. He said most kids his ages do not know that for atleast several more months if not longer. Hehehe he make me proud, he is going to be a smart, bi-lingual little boy.

Fan and I are doing great. Fan works for Dolese Brothers, which is a concrete business. He gets to play with trucks and dirt all day, is home in the evenings and most all weekends. I work for a real estate appraiser. I also started Homemade Gourmet. Some of you know I love to cook and thats what I get to do with this. Check out the website: www.homemadegourmet.com if you want to order anything let me know, I am having my debut party this Sunday and can get the items ordered for you. With Homemade Gourmet I am hoping to build up some good business and really get it going. I have a goal of 1 year or less to quit my job, make as much as I am making now and then some.

That's about all I have for now.

10 Months

Ok, so I dont keep up with blogging as much as I used to. SSSSOOOOO here is was has been up since the last time. Elijah is walking more and more, starting to turn around and trying to walk over toys. He knows how to shake his head "No." Likes to eat what Fan & I eat (most of the time). Christmas was good, he got many toys and clothes from Nana and Poppie. He has gotten onetwo of his upper teeth. Not been sleeping good. My dad made him this really awesome rocking horse that even adults can ride. Eli loves to sit and try to rock.

We went to see "Walking with Dinosaurs" at one of our events centers downtown, Fan & I had to keep telling Eli "where are the lizards?" so he would look at them sometimes. He did try to immitate them by growling. It was pretty cool, for more old kids than babies, but its ok.

In less than two months he will be 1!!! I cant believe it was about this time last year, we were getting ready and baby showers. Wow!! Now look at him, walking, teething and slobbering all over. I also am starting to wean him and hopefully by the time his birthday comes around he will be done.

I also have a goal to lose my baby weight by either Eli's birthday or mine. I have been working out at work most of the time. Its a work out but it does help along with a diet plan from Glamour magazine. It is a Do-It-Yourself. They give you showing lists and menus and tips for 30 days and that should help you to eat right and in portions. So far I have lost 5 lbs. Woo-hoo!!!

I also found this website called SmileBooks. Where you download there free software and upload your pics to it and create your own photobooks. I'm doing one for each month for Eli. Then when I'm caught up on all that I will start to work on our wedding and other photos I have. Its a lil easier than scrapebooking plus you dont need to buy stickers and other materials. I love it. If anyone has pics of Eli, Fan &/or I, I would love to have them. Please email or send them to me. Thank you.

Fan & his dad finished my bar and trim in the dinning room yesterday. It has been 2 years since that whole project was started, but its done!!!! Fan is working more on the house just make it look nice before Eli's birthday when we have lots of people over.

Well I think thats about it for now.

Lovies.
