Staying at home

Well it is my 2nd day as a stay at home mom for the moment and I am lovng every minute of it. Eli woke up this morning in a good mood and played and we sat on the couch for about 30 minutes and watched Garfield Gets Real. It was so wonderful. I hope Fan & I can make it work. I was able to make Fan lunch and dinner yesterday before he left for work and then I made him eggs and pancakes for breakfast when he got home this morning.

Eli has been sleeping through the night, wakes up about 6:30 and then goes back to sleep until about 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. Wakes up, eats, plays, and takes a nap. Then for the afternoon its the same thing. He is starting to play on the floor more by himself, he still wines a little but I comfort him and play with him and let him play some more. I will say he is spoiled, and at first this week it bothered me but now I have accepted it. I carry him if he wants, I'm ok with it. I still want him to try to do things on his own but I know he will learn on his own time. He is teething and in pain so I try to comfort him as best I can. I love my son and I am absolutely happy I got laid off from my job. I can take care of my son all day every day, take of my husband all day rather than just the evening. I am happy and all the stress is starting to come off my shoulders. I love it. I hope I can continue to be a stay at home mom.

Lovies to all!!!

Somebody has a girlfriend

So my friend Amber and her baby Kelsey came over for dinner last night. While we were waiting on Fan to get home, Eli was in his usual mood of wanting to stand and walk. Well he started to walk over to Amber and she held Kelsey up to stand and Eli grabbed and held Kelsey’s hand, then she smiled and Eli smiled back and then they started talking. THE CUTEST THING EVER!! If you have been around Eli you know he is a big flirt. Then Kelsey got tired and took and nap and Amber, Eli and I made dinner then Eli got tired and went down for a nap and Kelsey woke up. She was really talkative last night. Fan came home and we ate and talked and then Amber left and Eli was still sleeping. About 10:45pm I finally went and got Eli up so that he could eat before I went to bed and he fell back to sleep afterwards. Poor Fan didn’t get to play with his baby boy, he misses playing with him. It was a good evening and relaxing.

Elijah is 28 weeks!!

Well, Elijah's doctors appointment went really well Monday. He is on a good growth curve for a breastfed baby. He weighs 16.6 pounds, is 26 3/4 inches long, his head is 44 1/2 cm(?) around. He had to get his last set of shots until he is a year old. ONLY 6 MORE MONTHS :( boo-hoo :( Elijah has been able to pulled him self up in bed and stand there and cry until I come in. In the middle of the night he just sits up and cries. He is scooting around more on his tummy. If we hold him he can walk faster now and stand for a few seconds at a time. We are starting to transition him to a sippy cup and off the bottle. As far as solid foods go he likes: tomatoes, bananas, peaches, apples, pears. This weekend I will be making and freezing some broccoli, califlower, carrots and some chicken. I love being able to make my own baby food. I know its healthier and less expensive. Not to include we have more fruits and veggies around the house.

I am starting to plan our meals at home weekly to cut back on grocery costs and be able to know that we have the ingredients to make whatever recipe it is that I'm going to make.

This week, more or less like Tuesday, I found out that because they do not have enough work for me to do they are terminating my position as of Sept 26th. So unless I get find a job fast I will be without a job after next Friday. Which I wouldn't mind to stay home with Eli, but financially I can't at least not with out some sort of income, steady income. Luckily, they are giving me 6 weeks pay and Fan and I are going to try to pay off some things. He is going to be working more with his dad, too. We are going to cut back on our spending and do other things to help us get on our feet.

Also, this week I lost one of my dearest uncle's to pancreatic cancer. To my dear Uncle Dean, I love you and will always miss. You are in my heart forever. I will never forget your contagious laugh. Always put a smile or rather made me laugh everytime I heard it. Tell grandma and grandpa I love them, too. To my Aunt Coni, I love you and may God bless you everyday with the strength to carry on. You have plenty of family and friends who love you so much. I love you dearly.

Keep us in your prayers..........

We love you,
Fan, Sara and Elijah

6 months and back from Ohio

Well, we made it back from Ohio at around midnight on Monday. We left out Labor Day evening and drove through the night. Elijah did very well when we drove out at night, but coming home the following Monday we drove during the day well I will say I won’t travel long trips during the ever again with a baby.

As for the rest of the week, it was wonderful. It had been 4 years since I had been back to Ohio (Antwerp, to be exact). I got to see many family members that I hadn’t seen since my wedding or before. Eli was completely momma’s boy during the week. Because of so many new people he didn’t know, he really didn’t want many people to love on him. He got to spend the week with mommy and daddy, which we both enjoyed. Eli actually reached out for Fan now. Love it and I know it makes Fan feel so much better. I finally got to eat ice cream from the Ice Cream Depot, but we didn’t take the greasy truck up there (there is a pic on Eli’s photobucket page). We a couple of times at the A&W. One thing I like about Antwerp is you can walk to where you want to go. My cousin Brian took Fan & I to the Oasis and just sat and talked and ate a little. Mom watched Eli for me.

Aunt Coni and Uncle (who we stayed with) has a peach tree and two apple trees. Fan picked a peach or two every morning for breakfast. I picked some for Eli’s food. He is starting to eat solids more and more. I picked several peaches before we left and brought them home. I need to find a peach butter recipe before they go bad.

Saturday the 6th was Brian and Jessie’s wedding. I was a gorgeous day considering it rained the few days before. The sun was out we all had a great time. Uncle Dean stayed out late, got to dance, laugh and have fun. It was an all around good day. Thank you for the great and wonderful memories. Eli danced with Fan a few times and then with me. Welcome, to our wonderful and crazy family, Jessie.

We also went to visit Brian’s brother Shane and his girlfriend, Jessica, and their new house up by lake Wawasee. :) Beautiful house. Then we went to eat with them and they gave us a tour. We got to see where Payton Manning is going to buy a house, the CEO of Ford’s house, Eli Lilly Corporation’s houses and several other. Shane and Jessica took us to one of the parks that has this pole with a seat and someone spins you around. No joke, when I stopped my eyes were still spinning and I had to shake my head to stop them, but it was a blast. Eli cried because he didnt know what was happening to me. He got to step in the lake and watch the water. I found out that Jessica loves to cook just like me so I gave her my email address to swap recipes.

On Friday I put Eli in the crib so that I could to the bathroom and I come back and he had pulled himself up. First time ever!!! Then when we got home I put him in his crib while I put away diapers and he did it again, so I had Fan lower the bed the other day so Eli wouldnt fall out. :( My baby is growing more and more. :(

He is doing his army crawl better and more often. He is babbling a lot more. He loves to splash the water at bath time. There is a video on his photobucket page of him splashing. All movies are under the category "movies."

Well Monday we go to the doctor for Eli’s 6 month check up. I will post a blog after his appointment to let you know what is stats are and how he is growing.

P.S. There is a link to the side for Eli's photobucket page.

Love you all. Kisses and many BIG hugs to family in Ohio, Florida and everywhere. Love you Uncle Dean, we are praying for you. MAUH!!!
